Club Policy
Our policies help keep football safe, fair, and enjoyable for every player, parent/guardian, coach, and supporter in the Watford Friendly League.
Our approach
A clear, parent-friendly set of standards
Aldenham FC Excel is a community-first youth football club serving Watford and surrounding areas. These policies explain what you can expect from us—and what we ask from players and families—to create a positive matchday and training environment.
Core policies
What we stand for
These club-wide policies apply across all age groups and teams.
Safeguarding & welfare
Player welfare comes first. We promote a safe environment, appropriate conduct, and clear reporting routes for any concerns.
Respect & sportsmanship
We expect respectful behaviour toward teammates, opponents, referees, and volunteers—before, during, and after games.
Attendance & punctuality
Regular attendance helps development and team cohesion. Please arrive ready to train and play on time, and notify coaches early if you can’t attend.
Equal opportunities
We welcome players of all backgrounds and aim to provide fair access to coaching, development, and matchday involvement.
Matchday & training expectations
Players should come prepared with the correct kit, shin pads, and a drink. Coaches will communicate schedules and meeting points in advance. Parents/guardians are asked to support from the touchline positively and allow coaches to coach. If you have a concern, please raise it calmly after the session or via our Contact Us page.
Policy FAQs
Quick answers to common questions from parents/guardians and players.
How do I raise a safeguarding concern?
If you have an immediate concern, speak to a coach as soon as possible. You can also contact the club via Contact Us and we’ll direct it to the appropriate welfare contact.
What’s the club’s approach to playing time?
We aim for fair opportunities across the squad, while balancing development needs, attendance, and matchday requirements.
What if my child is injured?
Please inform the coach straight away. Players should not train or play if unfit; we’ll support a safe return to football when ready.
Can parents/guardians coach from the sideline?
We ask families to keep instructions to a minimum so players can focus and coaches can manage the session. Positive encouragement is always welcome.
How are fees and registration handled?
Registration details and any fees are explained on the Registration page. If you’re unsure, contact us and we’ll help.
What happens if there’s bad weather?
Coaches will communicate cancellations or venue changes as early as possible. Please check your team messages before travelling.
